It’s got that annoying cliketa clicketa sound as the reels drop but the characters animate well on win lines.
The game does, however, blend it’s frozen fishy feelings with strange characters such as the Nunchaku Squid, Samurai Walrus and Snowflake Shuriken to create a fast, smooth-running slot machine with some excellent opportunities to win.
The big wins potential comes from the Wild Ninja Penguin (that animates to link different symbols as wins), or the Ice cube scatter feature (a Penguin frozen in an ice cube?!), that activates the second bonus feature when you spin 3 or more. Lots of free spins are awarded in this game and the bonus game stages 5 very staunch looking penguins to smash up to three of the 5 ice cubes on display. The broken ice cubes reveal your winnings (multiplied by the triggering bet), or more free spins with triple value winnings. The game jackpot can rise from 30,000 to 90,000 if you trigger the right combination of reels.
Overall game rating? Tricky. All a bit icy and washed out graphics-wise for me, with 9,10,K, etc. symbols hewn out of ice blocks. Perhaps a better mid summer game? (Besides, I’m still enjoying walking Minnie the dog in The Osbournes slot)
