Try Dragon Slaying Microgaming Casino Style

The new Dragon’s Loot Slot game is a gentler type of fantasy world to FrankenCash and all that electrification (click to read an earlier blog posting), but in this 5-Reel, 25-Payline game you still get to take on a fire breathing dragon in order to make some cash.

Dragons Loot new slot at Microgaming Casinos

Three or more Dragons trigger the bonus round where you select a treasure chest from the Dragon’s Lair to reveal the number of free spins and your multiplier. Up to 75 Free Spins and an x8 Multiplier are possible – so this game can be highly rewarding! The base jackpot is $20,000 and can increase to $160,000.

Play new Dragons Loot slot machine The game is stylish, perhaps “pretty” with a nice audio track through the free spins wins. The girl (carrying a lager?) is a bit anime chic in style, but the castle is far too Disney comic for my taste. The knight fancies himself with the sword…and comes out slashing – personally I’ll back the fire breathing dragon to keep his loot any day!

Annoying features: Dragons Loot has that clicketta, clicketta sound as the reels roll and 9,10,J,Q,K images instead of expanding on the theme of the slot.

That said, all fantasy role players and those fond of dragons should enjoy a spin on this new Microgaming slot. The $160,000 possible jackpot is the most promising of the 3 new game releases out this week – and we topped up our casino account handsomely during a freespins win. With some luck you might too!

Sneak a Peek Slots New From Microgaming

Now Here’s a New Casino Game For the Girls… and anyone who fancies a muscled guy in uniform.

Hunky Heroes Feature slot - new at good Microgaming CasinosThe sexy male stripper theme starts right at the entry video to this new slot machine game.

In Microgaming’s newly launched HUNKY HEROES feature slot game you get to take your pick from a selection of supposedly “everyday” heroes! Really? I don’t spot too many fighter pilots, cops, sailors or firemen as hot as these guys around… lifeguards…yeah, more often. But I guess it depends where you live!

But what does the FIREMAN look like naked? The Microgaming design team have given each of these sexy lads names – e.g. The Fire Fighter Patrick they’ve decided is “Irish and as hot as the fires he puts out” and have stated that “he sure knows how to handle his hose!”, of course Brad the blonde lifesaver apparently offers you “waves of pleasure”…

The game is fun. There is no doubt.

Hunky Heroes “Pick a package” bonus lets you chose from the red gyrating underpants for your free spins and a multiplier. Extra free spins are awarded by the banana and strawberry condom packets – and do seem to come up alot – you also can win free spins wins within free spins wins! Excellent.

I’ve stripped off Brad and Wade and am just waiting for a Sneak A Peak bonus where I can see what Patrick the fire fighter looks like under all that dirt!

Fun. Easy to play. Highly entertaining…  It’s a 5-Reel, 9-Payline Multi-Coin Slot with a base Jackpot of $10,000 and a further $100,000 available through the no-limit Free Spins + Multiplier Bonus Feature.

Rating 9 out of 10. Like it.

Let em Ride Strategy and Odds: Win an iPhone!

This month Bodog Casino is offering players of this popular game the chance to win an iPhone free. (previous blog posting).

“Let ’em Ride”, “Let it Ride” – whatever name you use it’s a kind of poker game played without a dealer… Here’s a quick run down on how to play Let em Ride – plus a play strategy and odds analysis that you may find useful.

As the cards fall you can choose to reduce your bet size if your hand doesn’t look promising, this is what gives the game some skill element.

You start Let Em Ride by making three bets of equal size, and if you like a side bet. Three cards are then dealt to each player plus two community cards dealt face down.

If you don’t like what you see you can pull back one of your bets. One community card is then turned over. You get another chance to pull back another bet if you still don’t rate your hand. Tha hand ends when the second community card is turned over and you’re paid on the poker value of your three cards plus the two community cards.

The standard Let Em Ride pay table starts at 1/1 for a pair of 10s or higher, to 1,000/1 for a royal flush.

Some experts advise that the best gaming strategy for the first three cards is to “Let It Ride” or keep the second bet in with any of the following hands:Let em Ride strategy I

With four cards the player should “Let It Ride” with any of the following:Let em Ride strategy II

Bodog Casino ‘s resident odds man has calculated that if you apply the strategy above the house edge is 3.51% (based on the expected loss per one bet). For example, if you start with three bets of $10 you can expect to lose 35.1 cents on average. The element of risk, or expected loss to total amount bet, is 2.85%.

Bodog Casino also offers a $1 side bet on the poker value of the player’s final 5-card hand. It pays $50 for a flush, $75 for a full house, $100 for a four of a kind, 10% of a progressive jackpot for a straight flush, and the full progressive jackpot for a royal flush. For the side bet to be fair bet, the jackpot total would need to reach $263,205. (So think twice before you take on a side bet!)

New Microgaming Slot will test your Lucky Stars!

Lucky Stars slot game - new today at Microgaming CasinosThe second of the 2 new slots games released today by Microgaming casinos is a really fun way to test just how good your horoscope is this week.

It’s a new 5 reel feature/bonus slot (20-Payline) called Lucky Stars.

Lucky Stars features a cool spinning orb as the  scatter (is it a crystal ball a full moon or a planet?) It turns into a lightning strike when it’s activated. 3 star chart wheels triggers the Lucky Stars feature game. Spin your star sign you get to choose between a bonus game or 15 free spins with tripled prizes. Your call. The bonus game lets you select 5 constellations to reveal your prizes.

Prizes you say?
A 50,000 Jackpot is up for grabs in Lucky Stars. It can be boosted by 10,000 in the Constellation Bonus Game and an incredible 150,000 via the Lucky Stars Feature. All free spins triple your winnings. Nice.

While I have not scored jackpot scale winnings to date playing Lucky Stars slot game, I certainly went into this game with a far lower casino balance than when I stopped play!

Be one of the first to try this new slot game!

Try your lucky stars online at these great casinos:
I personally think Lucky Stars should be played at top Casino Rewards Casino – Zodiac Casino. The astrological theme and somehow sexy purple and black color scheme complements the earth, water, wind and fire theme of this new game perfectly.

Click to visit Zodiac Casino nowZodiac Casino is popular with players from all over the world but also welcomes US resdients from 39 States of America.

Click to visit Ruby Fortune Casino nowAs an alternative I’d try UK owned Ruby Fortune Casino – sorry, no US players.

Future for US Internet Gambling: Make it Legal but Regulated

Click for a comparison of online casinos still accepting US playersTop experts testified Friday before the House Committee on Financial Services and offered further evidence to Members of Congress that a regulatory framework for Internet gambling would protect consumers and ensure the integrity of Internet gambling financial transactions.

Leaders in the fields of internet payment processing, identity identification and online safety described how existing systems and technology have proven successful in combating underage and compulsive gambling and protecting against money laundering, fraud and identity theft.

“It was made clear at today’s hearing that online gambling can be effectively regulated,” said Jeffrey Sandman, spokesman for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative. “Instead of prohibiting Internet gambling, which is futile, the government should regulate and tax Internet gambling to ensure proven and effective security controls are implemented to protect consumers and capture billions in revenue that is needed for critical government programs.”

Friday’s hearing provided additional momentum by clearly demonstrating how regulated Internet gambling could protect against underage and compulsive gambling and ensure the integrity of financial transactions.

Andrew Poole, Head of Online Services for GamCare, a charitable organization committed to addressing the social impact of gambling, provided testimony that a robust regulatory policy can combat underage gambling and manage the potential for harm through gambling online.

“We are satisfied that if the move towards more responsible operation continues to gather pace, as is increasingly observed across Europe and the rest of the world, that the continued legitimate development of the industry need not be off-set against significant increases in problematic gambling,” said Poole. “Robust, formal regulatory frameworks undoubtedly represent the best opportunity for achieving this.”

Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling, the U.S. advocate for programs and services to assist problem gamblers and their families, discussed in his testimony the opportunity to use the technology and controls available on the Internet to combat compulsive gambling.

“Problem gambling is a serious and even life-threatening mental health disorder,” said Whyte. “However, the graphical and interactive structure of the Internet provides a revolutionary opportunity to create informed consumers with access to a variety of information designed to encourage safe choices and discourage unsafe behaviour. The technology also exists, unlike for other forms of gambling, to allow players and operators to set limits on limits on time, wagers, deposits, etc … as well as to exclude themselves. Clearly gambling on the internet raises some difficult issues, but it provides theoretical opportunities for operators to deliver responsible gaming programs that meet or exceed current standards in the ‘bricks & mortar’ gaming industry.”

Gerald Kitchen, Chief Executive of SecureTrading, a payment service provider specializing in the secure processing and settlement of Internet payments, offered in his testimony that concerns raised about Internet gambling are already being addressed by other countries through the implementation of specific systems and technology.

“The issue of compulsive gambling remains a significant challenge and the approach required to effectively combat this requires transparency and involvement from various stakeholders,” said Kitchen. “Payment card holders can be offered the possibility to restrict their ability to gamble on the Internet by way of applying to be excluded via a self-exclusion program. When self-exclusion from Internet gambling is put into effect via the payments system, it becomes impossible for the person concerned to participate in any gambling on the Internet that uses traditional card payments through the payment processor.”

Jon Prideaux, Chief Executive of Asterion Payments and a former senior executive at Visa tasked with establishing rules, compliance programs and enforcement rules for the operation of Visa online payment systems, provided testimony that it is feasible to protect consumers in a regulated environment.

“On the basis of my experience I can unequivocally state that Internet gambling can be regulated, and that abuses can be effectively regulated and controlled,” said Prideaux. “Regulation ensures that players get a fair deal and are not cheated. … We owe it to people who have experienced problems with Internet gambling in the past to introduce a regulated environment where the proper protection can be provided to the vulnerable.”

Clive Hawkswood, Chief Executive of the Remote Gambling Association, a trade association which represents the largest remote gambling operators and encourages social responsibility within the gambling industry, provided testimony that internet gambling can be regulated to protect the payment system.

“As with all other industries and sectors it (Internet gambling) is capable of control in order to prevent it being used as a source of crime,” said Hawkswood. “Within the United States vast amounts of credit card transactions take place on a daily basis. The system is well established and well policed in order to counteract fraudulent and criminal transactions. The only circumstance in which crime can flourish is if the activity is unregulated.”

I’m not a person who believes in superstitions – I think they’re unlucky

We’ve all heard the quip “I’m not a person who believes in superstitions – I think they’re unlucky!”

Admit it – as casino gamblers, we’re a superstitious bunch. And it’s no different for online casino play (except you can’t really be that serious about never wanting a redhead opposite you at the craps table or having a fourth player join into your roulette game!)

Some things can still apply – like I never like anyone to serve me a drink from the left when I’m playing online. OK….Why? This one’s easy and not superstitious at all – just practical – they have a far greater chance of KO-ing my wireless router and screwing up my Internet session…

Lots of online casino players however do have lucky talismans, symbols, dos and don’ts – right down to always wearing red socks to play blackjack (apparently lucky, even if you have nothing else on except air conditioning) through to cutesy little gold luck leprechaun charms or that special fluffy toy sitting beside their keyboard (mine’s called Kismet and he’s real and purrs a lot, especially when I’m Q.U.I.E.T. – ie NOT winning!).

So, what’s your lucky symbol?

Ultra lucky clover, especially for herbivores? You like a 4 leaf clover? Try playing a while at Strike-it-lucky Casino where the greenery is decidedly lucky.

Bingo – where there’s smoke there’s bingo…

Bingo on the net - tried it?

A new survey by online bingo operator St Minver has suggested that one in ten bingo club players will stop playing in the clubs and that one in three will play less often when the UK smoking ban comes into full effect in July. The report also found that 62 per cent of bingo players smoke, of which 63 per cent will increase their bingo spend online after the ban.

Leigh Nissim, managing director of St Minver (UK) said: “From our research, it appears that land-based bingo clubs are likely to suffer in wake of the smoking ban. Not only do players disagree with the ban, but they’re less likely to visit clubs as a result.”

The survey also found that players are happy to stay at home carrying out a variety of tasks at the same time as playing, such as cleaning, watching TV and also smoking whilst playing online.

CasinoLabRat.com has received several recent enquiries from players wanting to know the best online Bingo site to play. A couple of Bingo-philes are joining our team and we’re just gearing up to provide some serious reviews on the top sites for Bingo.

In the interim, if you like Bingo we’re getting great feedback on BetFred Bingo at present. Fred Done is a top UK bookie and offers a top rated Playtech-based Casino and iPoker room too – so check out Fred’s Bingo today!)

Lifes a Beach – Swim Between the Flags!

For those of you holding out for summer (or a tanned muscle bound lifesaver or blonde beach babe) this new slots game release from the good folk at Microgaming may be just the pick-me-up you need.

I must admit we’ve had a great summer and stunningly lovely autumn/fall so far here (in a little corner of New Zealand). I also do not really relate to beach cabanas serving drinks – I’m a more open spaces beach fan, and I’d definitely have included sunblock in my slots icons, rather than a ghetto blaster/boom box… (yep, that’s what an iPod is for guys!)3 or more lifeguards triggers the bonus round

I like the shark cruising behind the lifesaver as he celebrates when you win a bonus game round…

New 5 reel Lifes A Beach slots game from MicrogamingWhat?  Life’s A Beach

And? It’s a new 5-Reel, 20-Payline Slot with a 120,000 Jackpot and 200,000 max win.

Where can I play?  The casinos first to release this new slots game are UK’s Spin Palace and Ruby Fortune Casinos. (Sorry, no US players)
>>GO TO Spin Palace Casino
>>GO TO Ruby Fortune Casino

Can I play for free? Of course you can – all games except Progressives can be played for ‘play money’ with no obligation to wager for real at these 2 casinos – unless you want to have a go at winning the jackpot of course!

Time to make yourself a killing…

Hitman - a new 15 line slots game out today!Just launched today!  Hitman.

I do not often rate a new release as an “absolute must try“. Even if you’re not that fussed for interactive slots games or killing bad guys I’m confident that you’ll get a buzz out of the new Hitman feature/bonus slot from Microgaming. I hope you got your practice in (see previous blog post).

Hitman is licensed by Microgaming from Eidos Interactive Limited and based on the well-known, internationally acclaimed PC game.

Expanding Wilds add some good dimension to this new slotWilds are just unreal in this new game – they expand covering a row to give you more chances to win. I even had two expanded wilds side by side. The assassin with crossed guns blends into movie quality images of the guy packing up after a job and walking out closing the door…
How cool is that?

Expanding Wilds add some dimensionIn my first ‘Contract Bonus’ game it was relatively easy to pick a bad guy to bump off but surprisingly hard to select which weapon to use as they all looked great fun. Garotting wire, laser sighted sniper guns, syringes with vials of (fast acting) poison, throwing knives… hhmmm.

As you can no doubt tell, I REALLY like this game and consider it to be one of the best new casino slots releases in the last year.

Graphics: great.
Sounds: cool.
Interactivity: heaps.
Win options: many.

Hitman gives you lots of ways to win (2 interactive bonus games plus the opportunity for 18 free spins) so there is always something new happening…

OK, I’ve raved enough… YOUR turn to play.  Hitman can be downloaded now for free at the following top UK-owned, Kahnawake-licensed online casinos (sorry, no US players):

>>GO TO Ruby Fortune Casino
>>GO TO Spin Palace Casino

PS: Play for free as a guest or for real money – it’s your call.

US players from 39 states can play HITMAN at this top casino US Players can download Hitman from Blackjack Ballroom. (BJBR is one of the few safe, reputable casinos licensed by Microgaming that are able to accept US players from 39 States).

New Microgaming Irish Pirate Slots Game – no download, play for free

Treasure Ireland (Not a typo) is a just-released game now online at Ladbrokes Casino. No registration is required if you want to play for free – no download either (it’s browser based).Click to go to Ladbrokes Casino - no registration or download required for free playThe Bonus game in Treasure Ireland - triggers when you accumuate 3 maps

>For Brits and Irish Casino Players…

As an extended St Patrick’s Day celebration top UK online Casino Ladbrokes Casino is running a promotion limited to UK and Irish players.

You can win a trip for 2 to Dublin, have a meal at a top restaurant, stay in a great hotel – plus you get tickets to the Punchestown Racecourse on 27th April!

All you’ve gotta do (besides from being UK and Ireland based and I guess over 18…) is to play £25 on the new Ladbrokes Treasure Ireland pub slot or (if you’re not a slots kind of person), play Roulette – any time between 16th March and 31st March.

>>For the rest of us: (sorry no US real money players)…

Actually, the  new slots game itself is worth a look – sort of a cross between the hugely popular Who Wants to be a Stallionaire, and other slots like Cash n Curry, GeeGees and Pub Fruity (you know, the slots game with the darts game as the bonus round). It’s a no download Microgaming software-based slot so has great graphics, lots of thought has gone into the sounds and there are lots of ways to win money. Top prize is £50,000 (or currency equivalent). New features like ‘extra life’ and special feature wins tot up as you play the bonus game. Old hands at Microgaming slots will instantly recognise the game format and get stuck in pronto.

“Land ahoy, Treasure Ireland” in a funny Irish lilt signals you’ve scored a bonus round. Lots of shamrocks, Guinness and even potatoes feature…as you’d expect in an St Patrick’s Day celebration – all within a nautical sea-gull ridden background theme.

You can play for free (demo play with a balance of 200 each time you play) – or you can play for real money. Yes, as you’d expect you’ve gotta play for real to enter he “win a trip” competition.
