Well, I’ve finally found a re-release of a Microgaming slot I can really rave about – and no, it’s not the recent Tomb Raider II Secret of the Sword (but that’s good too!)
This time it’s Break Da Bank Again. This slot is a great re-release of a long time favourite, ultra popular, slot machine. The new game’s graphics are pretty cool (like the photo realistic bank vault, the gold bullion, the wads of cold crisp notes so real you can smell them!, checks with lots of zeroes and the beautiful gleaming sapphires…) Lots of shiny valuables! Mesmerising! It’s all mine, mine, mine I say… !
Sorry, that’s a bit screw-loose. The little graphic in this blog just does not do it justice. There is however just something sleek and ultra rewarding about this new slot machine. You can win a massive 375,000 coins on this and have lots of free spin win chances too (up to 25 free spins at x5 multiplier). Break Da Bank Again is by far my favourite out of April’s new releases – and they are ALL well worth a look.
Double O Cash (as in 007 and Bond, James Bond) is a far more racy 5 reel slot game (but I still prefer Breaking that Bank!). The background theme music is very Bond and the shaken not stirred martini features a lot. Unfortunately an annoying bling bling bling sound accompanies the spinning reels. (I suggest you switch off ‘game sounds’ in the options menu but keep background sounds… but it’s your call.)
Helicopter gunships, fast cars & motorbikes, leatherclad Bond Girls (female assassins), the dude with the cigar and white cat (who is that?) and Jaws biting through a chain…all great animations.
3,4 or 5 adjacent “Bond watches” triggers 10 to 30 free spins but unfortunately free spins can’t be retriggered within free spins in this game. The Mission Bonus Game (well, the one I’ve been lucky enough to play so far – there may be more like in Secret of The Swords!) dives the Bond-mobile underwater to defuse mines for payouts. Win up to 100,000 coins…
And for a slot game with a completely different look and feel, Celtic Crown features a particularly saucy looking celtic Princess (perhaps modelled on the game developer’s naughty Irish girlfriend?) and an anxious looking Celtic Prince (I wouldn’t trust that vixen either!), and of course lots of shamrocks. Once the leading online payment method, Neteller has been through some major trials recently. This has been mainly due to American legalists deciding that the US Government wasn’t getting enough of the tax-take from the online gambling habits of their citizens. Our favourite slot machine so far in January 2008 is Playtech’s Bonus Bears. And before the Microgaming ra-ra squad start to email us or send around the heavies, we really do rate Bonus Bears higher than any of the new Microgaming casino slots released last week (Mark of Medusa, Little Chief Big Cash, Polar Bash).
Bonus Bears is a 25 payline feature slot that is really fun to play as it offers both a bonus game and free spins win options.
Fancy a walk in the forest? Bonus Bears features realistic bird song background sounds (guaranteed to wake the cat draped over your computer desk) and surprisingly cheery music as you spin – especially given the number of bees and bears around! I guess it’s better than all the poisonous snakes, spiders and fire ants in my (Australian) bush.
The Bonus Bears Honey feature is triggered (pictured left) when 3 or more beehives appear. And this is where this new game starts to outstrip it’s competing slots game releases! New from Playtech, Wild Viking is a table game with great gambling options. It is sort of a cross between roulette and poker betting, but also offers a fairly “out there” bet called (of course) The Wild Viking – that pays out at odds of 1250 to 1!
Wild Viking casino game also offers a Progessive Jackpot that offers an even bigger payout.
OK, so what’s Wild Viking all about then?
As a casino game it’s actually harder to describe than it is to play (although there is a great online tutorial at Bet365 Casino if you need it).
It’s played with a deck of 52 cards plus 2 jokers, and you’re dealt a five card hand.
You’ve got a range of betting options, based on either what you think the whole hand will be worth or on specific cards out of the hand, and you can place as many bets as you like.
Roulette type bets are settled based on the value and suit of your 5th card drawn.
You can bet on single cards, lines and corners, and single rank (say, any 5), Odd/even bets and black/red bets too.
Single card bet pays out at 51:1 !
Single rank pays 12:1
Single suit (like say, any club) pays at 3:1
All odd, or even pays 1:1
Black or red pays 1:1
The big payout is for a “Wild Viking” that pays out at 1250 to 1 (where both the first and fifth cards drawn are jokers). The value of the first and fith card drawn determines the Wild Viking outcome.
It really is easy to play – just click on the appropriate place on the Wild Viking board to place your bets (hover over the bet area and it highlights in yellow and gives you the odds down the bottom of your screen)
Poker bets are paid out based on the entire 5-card hand and the Progressive jackot bet (a fixed $1 bet – is an optional extra).
You win when your 5 card hand is the hand you bet on – or is better than the hand you bet on. To win you need a 3-of a kind or a better poker hand. The higher the poker hand the better your payout. A Royal Viking Flush results in you winning the Progressive Jackpot prize.

In Microgaming’s first wave of new casino games releases for the year, three slots are already proving popular with players. The team at CasinoLabRat.com have had feedback from a number of the leading Microgaming casinos that a significant rise in slots game play has been observed, and specifically across the new games releases.
The new slot machines; Mark of Medusa, Polar Bash and Little Chief Big Cash (all 5 reel bonus/feature games) were also accompanied by the release of a long awaited download version of Treasure Ireland (as in Irish pirates me hearty!).
Here’s our reviewer’s comments on the new Microgaming slot games:
Mark of Medusa – A heavenly $50,000 Jackpot awaits all who dare reawaken the ancient Greek Gods.
This 25 payline 5 reel slot features Pegasus (a winged horse) as it’s scatter. You need 3,4 or 5 of the little winged horsey to trigger the 15,20 or 25 free spins feature. What is cool is that free spins can be retriggered within free spins and all freebie winnings are tripled.
The first time I played Medusa, my second spin resulted in a 15 free spin spree and a 21580 coin payout. Excellent.
The game symbology is a bit strange, as are the background sounds. Cracked amphorae, crossed blades, multiheaded rottweilers (Cerberus the 3-headed dog), a really odd snakey bint with red blinking snake eyes – sort of like a cross between a Bratz doll and Britany Spears on a bender and …A spartan/Corinthian/Athenian guard (a good thing for Britany to have around these days).
Overall view: Fun for a bit, graphics are not as good as some of Microgaming’s releases and the game introduces nothing new feature-wise. Give it a go.
Polar Bash – Attend the coolest party of the year and sample a winning cocktail of Free Spins and Multipliers. An icy Jackpot of $60,000 is possible.
Looking so much like the slightly poor cousin of Santa Paws Christmas slot, Polar Bash is a lively, colourful North Pole themed New Years Party! The polar bear looks wasted and is wearing a Party Animal T-shirt, The Husky? Wolf? is getting into it with a Martini and party hat and the walrus gets quite excited when you link him in adjacent reels! I like the teetering penguin too.
This 20 Payline 5 reel slot has an Ice Fishing Bonus game that triggers when 3,4 or 5 little green fish splash down next to each other on the reels. You can win up to 15,000 coins in this bonus, up to x10 your original bet. There’s also a free spins bonus triggered by 3,4 or 5 North Pole signs – and the free spins can be retriggered within the freespins. If you get 5 North Pole signs during free spins they pay out at x50 your oriinal bet and 5 green fish pays at x100!
Annoying music and sounds as the reels spin. At least all characters are animated and there are no “place holder” icons (like 10/J/Q/K), it’s all icy animal themed. Good luck. I kept getting low win payout “cocktail shakers” and so gave up to make myself a drink…
I do like that the free spins when triggered really rip through fast. No waiting …!!! For my first 25 free spins I won just 3700 coins. (Quite different to free spins on the other 2 new games out today, Mark of Medusa and Little Chief Big Cash where I won 21580 for 15 Free Spins and 14420 for 43 free spins, respectively).
Overall view: Despite not much success at this slot game it is really fun to play with lots of animation and action. Having both a bonus game and a free spins option it seems more on offer…Suggest you check it out.

This 25 payline 5 reel slot seems to have it all. The graphics are fairly ordinary (a bit too cartoony for my taste and unless you like “pow wow” with your game I suspect you might prefer one of the other releases out today!
The Big Cash Feature is triggered when you get 3 or more slightly dodgy looking howling coyotes. Select from teepees on the plain for cash or free spins prizes. I won 43 free spins (that double your winnings) in my first soire into the teepee camp ground and from that scored at total feature win of 14420 coins. Nice.
Overall view: Oh, Why not? I know I’ll play it again.

Some basics: This new Blackjack is played with 2 standard blackjack decks, the dealer must stand on all 17s. There is no peek option, and you can double down on 9, 10 and 11. You can split once to make 2 hands, but not unlike 10 value cards. A split Ace and a 10 count as 21 not BJ.
The Side bet options on this new Blackjack game really are pretty cool.

Have you tried “What’s Cooking?” slot yet?
